The Well-being group held a meeting on 14 June 2024 welcoming new members from RWTH Aachen University. Professor Axel Sowa (architecture theory) and Dr. Murielle Hladik (architecture theory and esthetics).

They have proposed a joint symposium on “The City of Tomorrow – Scales and Practices of Sustainable Development”, which will address different scales of conversion process for urban development. The symposium will cover broad areas of interest in scientific fields in this group and will connect diverse topics we have discussed in the previous meetings.
Cooling and heating houses in relation to energy consuming, or reuse of buildings in the way of urban renewal, including “Akiya (vacant houses)” were among other topics we discussed. In this group, we have scholars from Europe and Asia (China, Thailand, and Japan), and a comparative study in those topics may be proposed.

The next step will be to put all ideas on the topics we have raised for the past months into a table of the Inochi framework and to draw a preliminary sketch for the Inochi Declaration within this group.
