On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, “Cambridge Faraday Institute of Science and Religion First Lecture/Special Seminar in Japan” was held.

The Faraday Seminar is organized by the Faraday Seminar Executive Committee, with the full cooperation of The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion, which is deeply connected to the University of Cambridge and St. Edmunds College in the UK. This event was held for the first time in Japan and was jointly sponsored by Iinochi Kaigi.

The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion is a research institute founded in honor of Michael Faraday, who made a major contribution to the development of modern natural science. Faraday was a renowned scientist as well as a devout and devout Christian. The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion is the successor to his ambition.

This time, three guest speakers from the Faraday Institute came to Japan and held a seminar.

At this seminar, which will be his first lecture in Japan, Graham Budd, director of the Institute and former president of Arm, UK, will talk about “Artificial Intelligence and Modern Society,” and honorary director of the institute, Graham Budd, will talk about “Creation or evolution – we must choose.” At Cambridge, Dennis Alexander, author of “What’s the Problem?”, “Participating with Science in ‘Bigger Questions” at Cambridge”, and course director Mike Brownats, who has a PhD in quantum mechanics, “The relationship between artificial intelligence and technology” I gave a lecture on the title.
In addition, Mr. Koichi Hosoi (missionary at Chigasaki Tsutsumi Mission, United Church of Christ in Japan), who presides over the executive committee of the seminar, gave a topic titled “The relationship between religion and science in modern Japan.”
