Osaka University Symposium from 13:50 on Monday, February 5, 2024 – Creating a sustainable future society that protects “life” and “lifestyle” – Thinking about a recycling-oriented and de-globalization society from the sustainability of plastic bottles. It will be held.
Plastic products such as plastic bottles and plastic bags have enriched our lives by taking advantage of their characteristics of being cheap, lightweight, durable, and non-perishable. Plastics are indispensable in modern society and have been used in a wide range of fields, but they cause various environmental problems because they are difficult to decompose in the natural environment.
Osaka University and the Suntory Group are collaborating to promote “horizontal recycling,” which aims to recycle 100% of PET bottles collected on campus into bottles, in order to realize a sustainable society through PET bottle recycling and resource circulation. Along with starting the business, we are working together to educate and raise awareness about resource circulation and plastic recycling.
To commemorate this collaboration, we will hold a public symposium to think about creating a recycling-oriented and global warming-free society by making plastic bottles more sustainable. If you are interested in environmental issues related to plastics, please join us.
